Supporting Mental Well-being in Paris: Resources and Initiatives You Should Know
From dedicated citywide helplines to community-focused wellness programs, here is how the City of Paris is prioritizing mental health as a community-wide focus.
How we reported this

Mental health has become a focal point of public life in the capital, underscored by its designation as the Grande Cause Nationale 2025. With recent data indicating that almost one in two Parisians have experienced challenges such as stress, anxiety, or depression, there is a clear shift toward destigmatizing these conditions. A significant majority of residents, 61%, have expressed a desire to be more attentive to their overall mental well-being, prompting the city to expand its support networks and public awareness efforts.
Accessible Support and Helplines
For those seeking immediate guidance, the City of Paris provides several free, specialized psychological support helplines. The service Fil Santé Jeunes, available at 0800 235 236, offers assistance specifically for youth between 9am and 11pm. For the broader Paris Region, the Psy IdF service can be reached at 01 48 00 48 00, operating seven days a week from 11am to 7pm. Additionally, 3114 remains available for dedicated suicide prevention support.
Community Initiatives and Mental Health Month
The city's approach to mental wellness goes beyond crisis intervention, aiming to integrate support into daily routines through events and partnerships. Following the successful launch of its first Mental Health Month in April 2025, the city has scheduled a second edition for April 1-30, 2026. This initiative is designed to combat stigma through film screenings, workshops, and various artistic performances held throughout the city. These efforts build upon localized outreach, such as the Mental Health Awareness Operation, which took place in the 9th arrondissement in October 2025.
Moving Your Mind
Recognizing the link between physical activity and mental health, the City of Paris has partnered with ASICS to launch the 'Paris, Move Your Mind' program. This partnership focuses on making exercise more accessible to diverse groups, specifically targeting the elderly, young people, and women through free sports events. By encouraging movement within the urban environment, the program serves as a practical tool for improving daily well-being. Residents are encouraged to utilize these resources and participate in city-led initiatives to stay informed about available mental health support networks.
