Aquatic Centres and Swim Programs for All Ages Draw Crowds at Paris Pools
Paris aquatic centres have expanded group swim sessions this summer to include infants through seniors across multiple arrondissements.
How we reported this

Paris aquatic centres recorded a 28 percent rise in multi-generational program enrollments between May and July 2026 compared with the same period last year, according to city sports department figures.
Urban residents seek structured water-based activity as temperatures climb and work schedules remain dense. City planners have responded by adding evening lanes and family blocks at facilities that sit within a short Metro ride of most neighborhoods, reducing barriers that once limited participation to competitive swimmers.
The Piscine de la Butte-aux-Cailles in the 13th arrondissement now runs parent-and-toddler classes on Tuesday mornings and masters swim workouts on Thursday evenings. Two kilometres north, the Centre Aquatique Paris Aquaboulevard in the 15th offers aqua-aerobics circuits for adults over 60 every weekday at 10 a.m. and mixed-age relay sessions on weekends. Both sites sit near major cycling routes that connect to the Seine riverbanks and Bois de Boulogne trails, allowing participants to combine a swim with an outdoor commute.
Session Costs and Schedules
Drop-in entry at these pools costs 4.80 euros for adults and 2.40 euros for children, with monthly family passes priced at 32 euros. The current schedule runs through 30 September, with extra slots added on 15 July after demand exceeded capacity at both venues. City data show average attendance per session reached 142 participants last month, up from 111 in July 2025.
Residents can reserve places through the Paris.fr portal or at the front desk of either pool. Newcomers are advised to arrive 15 minutes early for a safety briefing and to bring a medical certificate only if they join the competitive lane groups.
